Q: How do I know that my car will receive the same expert care like I would get at a new car dealership?

A: Jim Hendrix Automotive Service Center is a family business and has been a trusted name in automotive service and repair for over 45 years. Our ASE certified master technicians have extensive experience working on foreign and domestic vehicles, and we use leading computer technology to diagnose and test your vehicle in order to properly service it. Plus we back our work with a 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty. We have the tools and equipment to service today's sophisticated computerized vehicles.

Q: I'm not sure I can pick up my car before your posted closing hours. Can you work around my schedule?

A: Of course! Just let us know your specific needs and we will work to get your car ready when you need it, and if it's after hours, we'll make arrangements with you for pick up.

Q. How Often Should I Rotate My Tires and Do You Rotate Them Free?

A: When you buy your full set of tires from Jim Hendrix Automotive Service Center, we rotate your tires at the recommended interval every 6,000 to 9,000 miles at no charge. Rotating your tires at the recommended interval will help ensure proper wear and extend the life of your tires, plus keep you and your family safe on the road.

Q: I've noticed spots on my garage floor. How do I know if they are just normal signs of aging for my vehicle and should I be concerned?

A: Give us a call and describe the leak--is it orange or green like a coolant fluid? Engine fluid is brown or black, transmission fluid is red or pink, differential fluid is brown and power steering fluid is light brown. Knowing what color the fluid is will help us quickly diagnose your problem and advise you. Don't wait to call because it could mean more trouble if you delay the repair.

Q: What should I do if my engine light comes on?

A: If your engine light comes on and stays on, it could be a simple problem but it's best to have us check it out to avoid costly repairs if it's something more series. The onboard computer in many cars will turn this light on as a warning so be sure and let us check it out. It could be something minor, but better safe than sorry!

Q: I hear some strange noises coming from my car--is that anything to be concerned about?

A: Sometimes strange noises can be an indication of a serious problem and checking them out may avoid more costly repairs down the road. It's best to let one of our expert technicians take a look.

Q. Are Synthetic Oils Really Better - What Type of Oil Should I use?

A. Regular oil, lube and filter changes protect and extend the life of your car. Synthetic oils are premium, high concentrated lubricants and provide higher mileage between changes. Regular oil works just as well as synthetic oils if it is changed on a regular basis (every 3,000-5,000 miles).

Q: Why Do I Need to Have My Car Checked During the Changing Seasons?

A: Temperature extremes require different service for your vehicle. For example, it's a good idea to have your coolant checked prior to the cold months to determine its freezing point. The same is true in the hot weather months-you should have it checked to determine the boiling point. When it comes to coolants and anti-freeze, it's cheaper to fix before the season gets started.

Q: Is it really necessary to replace my timing belt at the recommended interval?

A: YES. The failure of a timing belt in many cars can result in major engine damage. The cost of repairing an engine with a broken timing belt is much greater than the cost of a timing belt replacement.
